Minnesota Veterans Home

The Minnesota Veterans Homes have been established to provide health care services to Minnesota veterans who have a medical need to live in a structured health care environment.

The Minnesota Veterans Homes offer two types of health care:  Board and Care, which is intended to provide a structured living environment for veterans who can reside in such a setting, but who are able to dress, feed and bathe themselves with limited assistance.

Nursing care services are provided to those residents who require care over and above that available in a board and care setting.  Eligibility is limited to veterans and spouses of veterans over the age of 55.

Fees for either of these types of care are based upon the ability to pay and cost of care, and are charged on a sliding scale.

For more information, contact your County Veterans Service Office or the Minnesota Veterans Homes.  Board and care is available at the Minneapolis & Hastings facilities.  Skilled care is available at Minneapolis, Silver Bay, Luverne, and Fergus Falls.
