Aid and Attendance Benefits
Federal

This benefit is an additional monetary allowance, available to veterans and their spouses, who require care in a long-term care setting, such as a nursing home.  A & A benefits may also be available to veterans who reside outside of a nursing home, but who require the daily assistance of another to live independently.

For more information, or for assistance with an application for this benefit, contact your County Veterans Service Office.

An important note.  Widows or widowers of veterans may be eligible for these benefits also, provided they meet certain income requirements and if their spouse had the necessary war time active duty military service.
