Certificates of Real Estate Value

Certificates of Real Estate Value (CRV) are required by the State of Minnesota when recording a document that transfers property with a purchase price of over $1,000.  The Clay County Auditor collects the CRVs as part of the preliminary recording process.  CRVs can be obtained in bulk from the Minnesota Department of Revenue.  CRV’s can be purchased in small quantities from the Clay County Auditor.

The Clay County Assessor’s Office has information collected on Certificates of Real Estate Value (CRVs) for the past 4 years on real property located outside of the City of Moorhead.

The Moorhead City Assessor's Office has information collected on Certificates of Real Estate Value (CRVs) for the past 4 years on real property located within the City of Moorhead.

The Clay County Auditor’s Office has information on requirements to complete a Certificate of Real Estate Value (CRV) and the Supplemental Schedule used for apartment, commercial-industrial or farm sales only (PE 20-A).
