West-Central Minnesota Materials Exchange
Program (MATCH)
Solid Waste
Management
MATCH is a free
service designed to promote the reuse of materials.
Connecting
Material exchange programs
connect
businesses, nonprofit groups, government agencies, and individuals who
have surplus materials/reusable products or supplies available with those who
can use the materials.
Purpose
The
purpose
of materials exchange programs is to encourage the reuse of materials and to
reduce the amount of waste or
surplus materials entering landfills.
Materials
exchange programs
are based on the idea that one company’s waste may be useful to
another business or organization.
Through
a Materials Exchange, companies and organizations can
reduce their waste disposal costs by finding other companies,
organizations, schools or individuals who can use these waste or
surplus materials in their processes or programs.
How
to List or Search for Material
On
the Minnesota Materials Exchange,
a statewide directory of the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP),
web site you can place
your own listings, as well as search for materials wanted.
Anyone interested
in your listing will contact you directly. All arrangements are
worked out between the interested parties.
Businesses
and organizations may list on the exchange usable materials which they
no longer need.
Any item or material can be listed, as long as it is not a hazardous waste.
Participants
may also check the listings for items which they could use in their
processes, programs or
services.
For materials available locally or to
list material, contact the Clay County
Resource Recovery Program. View the West-Central Material
Exchange listing of
materials currently available or wanted.
Eight
Minnesota exchange programs work together as the Minnesota Materials
Exchange Alliance, coordinated by the Minnesota
Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP).
MnTAP is a non-regulatory program at the University of Minnesota
that helps businesses reduce waste. It is funded by the Minnesota
Office of Environmental Assistance (OEA).
