Reduce then Recycle

Many businesses are recycling bottles, cans, paper (office and mixed, including junk mail), corrugated cardboard, newspapers, magazines and other recyclable materials.

  • Your business may need to design a system to collect the recyclable materials.

  • Businesses without regular recycling service can self-haul recyclables to their nearest free recycling center/drop-off site (for Moorhead businesses--MinnKota Recycling’s drop-off site is at 1321 1st Ave. N.). 

  • Or, contact your commercial waste hauler or a local recycling company for recycling services available.

Minnesota Waste Wise at 651.292.4861 for assistance in finding cost effective ways to reduce waste.  Minnesota Waste Wise is a voluntary program for businesses, non-profits, and government organizations, sponsored by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Minnesota Office of Environmental Assistance, to increase waste prevention and recycling. 

Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MNTAP) at 612.627.4646 for help in improving waste management practices, preventing pollution, developing waste reduction and recycling programs and obtaining other technical assistance.  Applications are available for Summer 2002 interns to help you address a waste or inefficiency in your business.
