Household
Hazardous Waste (HHW) is waste material that can be harmful to human
health or the environment if it is used, stored or disposed of
improperly. These wastes
can be the leftovers from common products that are found in most homes
and garages. When a
product is no longer usable or wanted, it becomes household hazardous
waste.
HHW
consists of items labeled WARNING,
DANGER, TOXIC, POISONOUS, CORROSIVE, REACTIVE
or FLAMMABLE, which can pose a health or environmental
hazard if not disposed of properly.
