Mission Statement
The mission of the Management Information Systems Department (MIS) is to provide information management resources and services to County departments.
MIS emphasizes the delivery of high
quality customer service in a cost-effective manner and is responsible
for strategic and operational planning related to technology and its
use by the County. Major activities include the selection, acquisition,
installation, maintenance and support of the countywide network and
computers; the selection, implementation, and support of County
business application systems; and the development, implementation and
support of the countywide Internet Web Site.
The MIS Department acts as the site
coordinator for the County Video Conferencing Center, which is located in
the Family Service Center of Clay
County. All scheduling
and setup are done through the MIS Department.
Our facility will accommodate 24 people at tables with
microphones; however, we have in the past held conferences with over 30
people in attendance. Fees
are based on County participation and State Telecommunications Collaboration
participation.
Equipment in the Video Conferencing
Center includes a Polycom
ViewStation V.35, Dual 35” Sony Monitors, a VCR, a Sony Secondary Camera
on a tripod, a Canon RE-350 Document Camera and Scan-do 1024 scan
converter. Also included
are 12 microphones on tables, a portable microphone, a podium,
ceiling mounted speakers and 16 network jacks.
The Video Conferencing Center video services are provided by InterTech.

This site is also a University
of Minnesota Satellite downlink facility.
