Trimble Pathfinder GPS receiver and Trimble Reference Station software

Clay County GIS
Global Positioning System
Reference Station Status & Log

Site Status:   Retired

System Log

28 August 2008 After 10 1/2 years of operation, the Pathfinder Base Station was retired.
10 May 2005 The Pathfinder receiver has been operating intermittently. We will attempt to keep it running as long as possible. Please use data from our CORS base station.
28 March 2004 -
14 May, 2004
The receiver stopped collecting data due to a problem in the server.  A new server was installed along with new serial fiber transceivers.  Some data is available for the period.
15 July 2003 The receiver stopped collecting data due to moisture in the antenna lead. Water infiltration was possible through a small nick in the antenna cable jacket. The damage was caused when the cover for an air handling unit on the roof blew off during a strong thunder storm in June. It will take some time for all the water to seep out of the cable, and occasional outages may occur for several weeks.
17 February 2003 The Trimble Reference Station will be shut down from 14:00 UTC to 22:00 UTC 17 February 2003. This down time is caused by a planned power shutdown of the entire Courthouse as a part of the remodeling and expansion project.
2 October 2002 The G.P.S. receiver was offline from 10:00 UTC to 23:59 UTC. No reference station files were collected during this time period.
6 August 2002 The Trimble Reference Station was shut down from 21:30 UTC to 23:47 UTC 6 August 2002. This down time was caused by a planned power shutdown of the entire Courthouse as a part of the remodeling and expansion project.
10 July 2002 At 14:30 hrs, a new dedicated fiber optic connection was put in place to ensure connectivity to the G.P.S. receiver.
2 July 2002 A cable was severed during Courthouse remodeling.  Connection to the G.P.S. receiver was not possible until an alternate cable was available.  Base station files were not collected this day.
June 2002 The connection to the G.P.S. base station was not 100% reliable.  This caused breaks in data collection and file length was affected.  A permanent solution was installed in early July.
11 - 15 May 2002 The G.P.S. receiver was off-line from 12:00 UTC on 11 May 2002 until 14:00 UTC 15 May 2002.  Base station files were not collected during this period.
21 February 2002 The server was shut down from 15:20 UTC until 15:59 UTC for the installation of a gigabit network card.
4 February 2002 A configuration error on the Axis 2490 serial server caused the loss of data from 12:00 UTC to 21:15 UTC.  This has now be remedied.
29 January 2002 The Reference Station was shut down from 16:00 UTC to 17:35 UTC to facilitate the relocation of the server.  The G.P.S. receiver is now accessed remotely.
26 December 2001 The TRS was shut down from 20:12 UTC - 21:04 UTC for routine server maintenance.
19 November 2001 Due to adverse environmental conditions (water), data files from 14:15 - 14:57 UTC were not collected.  Building maintenance assures us this was a one time incident.
13 August 2001 While conducting maintenance on the server, data files from 12:00 - 16:06 UTC were accidentally lost.
9 March 2001 We resumed collecting data at 16:01 UTC.
9 March 2001 We shut down the server at 15:48 UTC to add memory.
26 January 2001 We resumed collecting data at 00:03 UTC.
25 January 2001 Due to an unexpected problem, the server restarted at 23:59 UTC.  The Base Station went off line and data collected for the day was lost. (CLAY20010125)
12 July 2000 We resumed collecting data at 17:00 UTC 12 July 2000.
11 July 2000 Due to a hardware failure (UPS) the Base Station went down mid-day Tuesday 11 July 2000.
1 February 2000 We upgraded the G.P.S. Base Station software to Trimble Reference Station (TRS™) from Trimble Community Base Station.
1 March 1998 The System began collecting data and was fully functional.
